Welcome back, Rattler families! We hope you all enjoyed a restful, sun-filled spring break and are returning with your batteries fully charged for the final stretch of the school year.
As we enter the fourth quarter, our RMS students are ready to finish strong, bringing that same energy and innovation we saw all year long right into the classroom. Let’s make these final weeks count by staying focused, staying kind, and continuing to lead the way!
Have an amazing week!

🏀RMS Athlete of the Week Spotlight 🏀
Ranchero Middle School is proud to recognize Ka’ron Jones as our Athlete of the Week!
Although new to our school and district this year, Ka’ron has quickly made a powerful impact as a key member—and Captain—of our Varsity Basketball team. His leadership shines both on and off the court, as he leads by example with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to keep his teammates motivated and focused. Ka’ron has been performing at an elite level this season, consistently scoring 20+ points per game while demonstrating outstanding teamwork, competitiveness, and sportsmanship. His contributions have played a major role in the team’s success. Beyond athletics, Ka’ron is also committed to his academics. Enrolled in honors courses, he is known by his teachers as respectful, responsible, and dedicated to his growth. With goals of attending college and pursuing athletics at the collegiate—and possibly professional—level, Ka’ron exemplifies what it means to be a well-rounded student-athlete.
A special thank you to Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers for supporting our student-athletes!
We are proud to have Ka’ron represent Ranchero Middle School! 👏

We are only a couple of weeks away from the end of the third quarter—time has certainly flown by! This is a great time for students and families to check Infinite Campus to make sure grades are up to date and that there are no missing assignments. Staying on top of assignments now can make a big difference as we head into the final stretch of the quarter.
We would also like to congratulate our Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams for advancing to the playoffs! The girls will be taking on Melva Davis, and the boys will be facing Barstow. Although these games will be played away, we hope members of our Rattler community will come out to support our teams and cheer them on as they continue their successful season.

If you hadn’t heard, our Rattler basketball teams are having a fantastic season! They have been bringing home wins and consistently showing what it means to be true student-athletes through their teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship each week. We encourage you to come out to one of our home games this week and help cheer them on!
In addition to our athletic success, it has been great to see so many students getting involved in campus activities and taking advantage of after-school programs and clubs. From academic support to creative opportunities, our students are staying engaged and making the most of their time at RMS. It’s wonderful to see our school community so active and connected.
Have an amazing week!

Last week, progress reports were sent home for students who currently have a D or F in one or more classes. Even though the semester is just getting started, this is a common time when students are still settling back into their routines. This is a great opportunity to check in, set goals, and help students build strong habits for the weeks ahead.
We encourage families to regularly monitor grades in Infinite Campus and to remind students to turn in all assignments on time. If your student needs extra support, we are happy to share that we offer a variety of after-school programs focused on tutoring and academic intervention to help students get caught up and feel more confident in their learning.
Believe it or not, there are only 13 weeks left in the semester, and this time will go by quickly! With consistent effort and communication with teachers, students can make meaningful progress and finish the term strong.
Thank you for your continued partnership, and have a great week!

Ranchero Middle School proudly recognizes Violet Steppan, 8th-grade Girls Varsity Basketball player, as our Student Athlete of the Month for January!
Violet maintains an impressive 4.0 GPA and is known as a model student in every classroom. On the court, she leads by example, encourages her teammates, and recently scored 10 points against Cedar.
She plans to continue basketball at Sultana High School, attend college, and hopes to earn a scholarship—while aspiring to become a lawyer.
We are proud of the commitment and leadership Violet represents!
👏 Thank you to our sponsor, Erickson-Hall Construction, for supporting our student-athletes!

We hope everyone enjoyed a restful three-day weekend. As we begin a new week, we would like to wish all of our students, families, and staff a great week ahead and thank you for your continued support.
It was a great week for our Rattler 8th graders as they explored the opportunities Sultana High School has to offer. We appreciate SHS for hosting a field trip, parent night, and basketball game for our students as they prepare for their transition to high school.
A huge shout out to our basketball teams for their wins against both Columbia and Larrea. We are proud of their hard work and teamwork on the court.
Finally, we hope all students and staff will participate in this week’s Random Acts of Kindness Spirit Week (see details below) as we spread kindness and school spirit across campus.
Have a great week!

What an amazing week at RMS! All of our basketball teams came away with victories against Mesa Linda, Mr. Thurston Smitty inspired our Social Studies classes with a special presentation, and we celebrated our Renaissance students with some well-deserved sweet treats. It’s safe to say—great things are happening at RMS!
The excitement continues this week! Our basketball teams will compete in both a home and an away game, and our 8th graders will enjoy a fun and informative week learning more about Sultana High School through their field trip. Sultana will also be hosting a Student & Family Night on Tuesday and Rattler Basketball Night on Wednesday. To top it all off, students can take part in a cozy and creative Blanket Making activity through our PBIS program.
It’s shaping up to be another fantastic week to be a Rattler—let’s keep the momentum going!
